6th Grade Language Arts Teacher
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated 6th Grade English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering a love for reading and writing while providing a stimulating and inclusive learning environment for students. The 6th Grade ELA Teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging lesson plans, assessing student progress, and promoting literacy skills in alignment with curriculum standards.
Responsibilities:
1. Curriculum Development:
- Develop and implement effective and engaging lesson plans aligned with the 6th-grade ELA curriculum.
- Integrate diverse literary genres, writing styles, and language skills into daily instruction.
2. Reading and Writing Instruction:
- Foster a love for reading by selecting age-appropriate and culturally relevant literature.
- Provide explicit instruction in writing, grammar, and language conventions.
3. Assessment and Feedback:
- Regularly assess student understanding through formative and summative assessments.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to support their growth and improvement in ELA skills.
4. Individualized Instruction:
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Provide additional support or enrichment activities as needed.
5. Classroom Management:
- Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom culture.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies to create a conducive learning environment.
6. Parent Communication:
- Communicate regularly with parents to share student progress, discuss concerns, and provide updates on classroom activities.
- Collaborate with parents to support students' literacy development at home.
7. Professional Development:
- Stay current with best practices in ELA instruction.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field; Master's degree and teaching certification preferred.
- Proven experience in teaching ELA at the middle school level.
- Strong knowledge of ELA curriculum standards and instructional strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Pay: $51,000.00 - $61,000.00 per year
