The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for assisting physician(s) and physician extender(s), as applicable, with clinical patient medical care duties, including patient triage, rooming of patients, and other clinical duties as assigned.

• Performs both administrative and clinical duties as assigned by physician and supervisor.


• Displays maturity, flexibility, and effective organization and communication skills in dealing with other people.


• Works cooperatively with other departments and medical facilities.


• Promotes teamwork within the department.


• Performs as part of a health care team to provide high-quality medical services.


• Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission and values.


• ​Assisting physicians during rounds of residents rooms


• Assigning and delegating duties to non-licensed nursing staff


• Monitoring resident care and supervising other nursing staff


• Performing ongoing assessments of residents physical and mental health


• Explaining procedures and treatment protocols to residents


• Planning and managing patient care according to each patient s needs


• Interviewing patients and recording their medical history


• Obtaining patient vital signs and escorting patients to their rooms


• Administering medications as prescribe


• Verifying that patient charts are updated promptly and accurately


• Observing and recording patients conditions and reactions to medications and treatments

Qualifications:

• A graduate of an accredited school of nursing of licensed practical nursing


• A current Missouri LPN license


• CPR certification
