One of your key responsibilities as a Order Processing Associate is to ensure that the store is stocked with the products customers need. This means working with other team members to manage inventory and product placement:

  • Showing a combination of professionalism and approachability, and being responsive to the needs of both customers and colleagues, is key to creating a positive work environment.
  • The significant responsibility requires that the merchandise's quality is maintained, the records are accurately maintained, and the delivery is timely to meet customers' expectations.
  • The safe removal of merchandise for loading onto delivery trucks and lending a hand to customers and colleagues in carefully moving merchandise.

The Order Processing Associate performs duties that are crucial to customer satisfaction and company profitability, such as helping customers select and purchase merchandise, preparing orders and loading products into delivery vehicles. To ensure timely and accurate deliveries, the associate must liaise with coworkers to ensure correct merchandise and information is being delivered to customers. The associate must be highly attentive to detail, since they are responsible for inspecting and preparing products for delivery and verifying invoices against loaded merchandise. Additionally, the associate must assist in loading merchandise, including larger items, such as appliances. The Fulfillment Associate's safety is also paramount, as they frequently lift and move items for themselves and customers.

Travel Requirements:

Regular travel is not expected in this position; however, it is possible that the employee may have to travel occasionally to attend meetings, trainings, or to help neighboring stores.

The prerequisites for this position are clear, and it is essential that the applicants fulfill them:

  • Working Hourly: Alternatives of full-time or part-time hours exist with the former usually entailing nearly 40 hours and the latter around 25 hours per week, though more may be demanded as per the store’s necessities.
  • This opportunity demands round-the-clock availability on all seven days of the week.
  • The job may necessitate extended periods of physical activity, such as continued standing or sitting, and other tasks crucial to executing the job responsibilities.
  • The essential criteria of this position involve the physical ability to lift 25 pounds without support. The job may also require the person to lift objects that exceed 25 pounds with or without some help.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Reading, writing, and performing basic arithmetic operations are integral abilities.
  • With 6 months of experience, proficiently handling computers in various aspects such as data entry, retrieval, manipulation, and output.
  • My 6 months of experience in retail has allowed me to become proficient in the use of modern technology such as smart phones and tablets.
  • Meeting necessary legal criterions to obtain sales related licensure or registration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Practical knowledge of retail gained in six months.
  • A mandatory prerequisite for this position is a minimum of six months of practical experience in a customer service or product fulfillment role at a home improvement or hardware store, with an emphasis on departments like lawn and garden, kitchen, plumbing, or electrical.
  • For the span of 6 months, I have worked in an industry inspecting, transporting and loading/unloading materials from vehicles.
