Job Description
- The Chemist I position is responsible for routine testing of raw materials, finished products, and stability.
- samples utilizing current Compendia, cGMPs, cGLPs, SOPs. Position supports other departments for
- special projects as needed. Position performs other laboratory duties as directed.
Essential Functions:
- Performs physical testing and chemical testing of incoming raw materials, finished product,
- and stability samples utilizing instrumentation such as disintegration, dissolution, Auto-
- titration, and UV-VIS.
- Conducts release testing on raw materials, finished product, and stability samples following.
- cGMPs, cGLPs, Compendia, and SOPs.
- Knowledge of Auto titration with experience using applicable software.
- Knowledge of Dissolution, Karl Fisher, FT-IR, and UV/VIS.
- Performs general lab duties as assigned, for example: replenish test reagents, clean lab,
- wash glassware.
- Prepares standards and reagents necessary to complete required testing.
- Performs routine instrument maintenance checks/calibration verifications according to the SOP.
- Gathers, reviews, and reports analytical results. Compares to relevant specifications to determine quality status.
- Familiarity with out of specification (OOS) / out of trend (OOT) processes per cGMP.
- Initiates out of specification (OOS) investigations when applicable.
- Cleans assigned areas of the lab and maintains an audit ready status.
- Assist with training new employees when necessary.
- Cross train and assist in other areas to support business needs.
- May assist in completing SOP reviews and updates.
- Responsible for maintaining a neat, clean and safe working environment at all times and
- notifies supervisor immediately of any safety concerns, accidents or injuries that are observed.
- Understands and adheres to all Company policies, procedures, SOPs and Safety regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/ Qualifications:
- BS in Chemistry or BS in Biology
- A minimum of 1 year (Preferred: 2 years) of related analytical laboratory experience
- (academic or professional).
- Must have good scientific, conceptual, and analytical techniques.
- Must be able to demonstrate working knowledge of general wet chemistry procedures.
- Must have knowledge of how to work safely with and around chemicals and their potential hazards.
- Ability to use effective and professional verbal / written communication skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Previous experience operating FTIR, UV/VIS, and pH meter preferred.
- Must be able to support overtime work as required.
- Ability to perform and accurately document all activities according to cGMP requirements.
- Ability to learn new analytical tests, instrumentation, and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to report accurate and precise results in a timely manner.
- Ability to adhere to company policies.

- Must pass background and drug screen
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $25.00 per hour
