The Senior Product Contracts Manager delivers on our Purpose by driving value and reducing supply base risk into contract processes to allow the Vacations Team to deliver desired product offerings. The role will work closely with other members of the Travel Products organization which includes departments such as Supply Chain Management, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Legal, Vacations Sourcing, and Vacations Customer Operations. In addition, this role supports contract management activities, including negotiation, and monitoring existing contracts with lodging, ground transportation, experience, joint marketing, and other vacations package partners across multiple markets. The Senior Product Contracts Manager is a strategic thinker and strong communicator who is excited to be part of meaningful and impactful initiatives and drive the future of Southwest.

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work onsite on our Corporate Campus at least three days a week. The Department designates the specific three days of the week Employees must work on-site.

Responsibilities
Work closely with the Senior Manager Contract Management on executing negotiation strategy with lodging, ground transportation, experiences, and other Vacations component partners
Assess and define business needs including financial and Customer Experience objectives, develop effective supplier negotiation strategies, and utilize innovative procurement solutions to align with business vision and objectives
Develop negotiation scenarios against several contract terms for different types of partners, including the quantitative and qualitative impacts
Partner with primary Internal customers to develop reviews to gauge supplier
performance and identify incremental value opportunities
Collaborate with SWA Legal and Supply Chain Management to ensure alignment with SWA standards
Collaborate with FP&A to size costing for different product/vendor scenarios
Perform analysis to validate assumptions, construct justifications, and build business cases for strategic initiatives
Identify potential opportunities through data analysis, industry knowledge, business models, and discussions with Stakeholders
Develop summary presentations to enable decision making for Vacation Leaders
May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of Marketing and overall travel ecosystem and seasonality principles
Skilled in communication, written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex issues in a structured and concise manner, including development and delivery of presentations to various audiences
Skilled in taking initiative and assuming accountability for achieving results
Skilled in analytical and quantitative analysis with experience building quantitative models
Skilled in aligning multiple parties with conflicting and/or diverse viewpoints to the direction of specific initiatives
Skilled in identifying unnecessary complexity and seeking solutions to reduce or eliminate it
Ability to manage multiple negotiations and execute tasks simultaneously to meet Department objectives while seeking guidance as needed to resolve issues/questions
Ability to properly manage highly sensitive and confidential information
Ability to work under stressful situations with tight deadlines and competing priorities while managing time effectively
Ability to be highly responsive and adaptable to efficiently manage quick-turn Executive-level requests
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
Advanced-level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:
Leading multiple contract negotiation strategies and models at the same time
Working with third party suppliers
Working with other cross-functional stakeholders such as Finance, Legal, Marketing, or Supply Chain
Compiling data points from several sources to construct negotiation terms and anticipate counter terms
Prioritizing contract terms to maximize overall financial and Customer value
Licensing/Certification

Physical Abilities
Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Ability to travel 10% of the time
Pay & Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $88,500 per year to $98,500 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
