Position Purpose:

Cashiers are essential in providing excellent customer service by ensuring that customers receive efficient, pleasant, precise, and secure service. They handle transactions, including Checkout and/or Return, and oversee the Self-Checkout region. They strive to enhance their understanding of products and schemes to offer customers valuable insight and identify sales prospects. They adhere to all policies and protocols to reduce the risk of theft.

Responsibilities:

• Execute the transaction of processing checkout or return items by following the guidelines and procedures laid out by the company.
• Ensure the Self-Checkout area is monitored and properly maintained.
• Demonstrate a proactive approach towards acquiring comprehensive information about the product or project to provide customers with accurate knowledge.
• Identify selling opportunities.
• In order to reduce loss, it is important to adhere to all established protocols and regulations.

New Duties Added to Head Cashier Job Description:

• Assist cashiers by speeding up the process of verifying prices.
• The approval of sales transactions and markdowns is required for the mainline registers, as well as for the Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
• Offer to connect the customer with a supervisor or manager who can further assist with their issue.
• Provide guidance, instruction, and mentorship for fellow Front End Associates to enhance their job performance and skills.
• Contribute to the education of newly hired Cashiers.
• Use all the resources at your disposal to instruct and improve the skills of other Cashiers.
