Installation Technician

Summary

We are looking for an experienced installation technician to install, diagnose, upgrade, and maintain audio video equipment for our organization, and customers. Your duties may include installing electronic equipment, smart home and business technology equipment, troubleshooting problems with existing equipment, testing connections, providing user instructions to customers, and cleaning up after the job is complete.

To ensure success as an installation technician, you should have sound electrical, audio video, and mechanical knowledge, be able to climb ladders and work in confined spaces for an extended period, have exceptional communication skills and a passion for customer service. Ultimately, a top-class installation technician provides expert installation services and dedicated support to all customers.

Key Results Areas:

• Installing electrical or computer equipment such as flat-screen televisions, projectors, routers, network equipment, wifi access points.
• Suggesting areas where equipment should be set up and where cords should be placed.
• Troubleshooting problems with existing equipment.
• Testing old and new installation connections.
• Providing customers with training, verbal and written operating instructions for new equipment.
• Maintaining equipment.
• Cleaning up after the job is complete.
• Recording and maintaining stock levels.
• Maintaining the work vehicle.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Lives all company core values
• 1-2 years of physical labor experience preferred
• Clean driving record (Required)
• Detail Oriented: capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task completed
• Strong time management skills
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 75 pounds etc.)
• Good hand-eye coordination
• Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus
• Familiarity with network termination tools (ie. Cat 6 cable)
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to safety rules
• Apprenticeship or specialization is an asset, but not necessary
• Proven work experience as an installation technician.
• Ability to climb ladders, also the ability to crawl in crawl spaces
• Ability to crouch, kneel and work in confined areas for extended periods.
• Advanced knowledge of modern electrical equipment.
• Ability to solve problems and diagnose equipment on site.

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED, or similar work experience
• Preferred Bachelor s degree in electronics, information technology or similar work experience.

PhysicRequirementsal :

• Safely use a ladder within the manufacturer's weight capacity
• Lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
• Safely access crawl spaces, attics, confined spaces, rooftops, etc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.65 per hour
