Overview


The Senior Manager of Digital Communications oversees and manages complex communications related to IT (Emory Digital) initiatives at Emory Healthcare, including system and departmental communications. Works closely with leadership to create detailed messaging for Emory Healthcare teams. The ideal candidate is highly strategic with the ability to adapt content for both internal and external audiences.


 


The Senior Communications Manager leads the strategic planning for and execution of all Emory Digital internal and external communications. This team member will have an understanding of technology terms, as the focus of this role is on communications to support digital transformation and technology activities.


 


In addition to leading the Emory Digital Communications Team, this team member also actively generates content and manages projects. Knowledge of communications tools for internal and external communications (e.g., Salesforce, MailChimp, content management systems, SharePoint) is also required. 


 


Work Location: Hybrid- on-site presence required 2-3 times per month on an as needed basis. 


 


Sr. Communications Manager Salary:


$39.10/hr - $69.79/hr The grade and salary of the position are based on specific criteria met within the qualifications of relevant experience, skills, performance and internal equity.


Description



  • The Senior Manager of Digital Communications identifies what should be shared with employees and collaborates accordingly with leadership, Communications, Marketing and Media Relations.

  • The Senior Communications Manager oversees and manages complex communications related to Emory Digital initiatives at Emory Healthcare.

  • Manages communications projects with a variety of team leads from start to finish, offering creative solutions to disseminate, streamline and clarify complicated messages.

  • Oversees communications for major digital go-lives and updates, ensuring all impacted individuals are educated and informed on changes affect their day-to-day operations along with patient care.

  • Assists in the development, planning and implementation of integrated communications and promotions.

  • Works cooperatively with designated staff to design and update communication materials including maintaining the communications channels and vehicles for education, promotion and/or enhancement.

  • Assists in developing short and long-term objectives and action plans to complete projects and product launches/updates.

  • Performs related responsibilities as required.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, English, Marketing or other related field.

  • Six years of experience in writing, editing and content creation with excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Experienced writer with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely, specifically technical and clinical-related topics.

  • Well-versed in AP Style.

  • Ability to function in an environment focusing stellar messaging and storytelling, while managing and prioritizing a high volume of communications.

  • Excellent judgment.

  • Strategic thinker.

  • Ability to work cooperatively across the organization.

  • Excellent project management , time management and organizational skills.


PREFERRED SKILLS:



  • Understanding of IT/technological terms.

  • Design skills (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, PowerPoint).

  • Video planning, creation, scripting and editing capabilities.

  • Knowledge of communications tools for internal and external communications (e.g., Salesforce, MailChimp, content management systems, SharePoint).

  • Knowledge of health care and health care technology.

  • Healthcare IT experience preferred

  • Experience with executive communications

  • Experience making technical content digestible

  • Being able to manage a high volume work-load is a plus
