Crowder's Truck Driving School offers programs to train individuals looking to obtain their CDL. Crowder offers both automatic and manual courses lasting 4 or 5 weeks. Courses Offered:

  • 200 Hour Program: Manual Transmission
  • This course is a 5 week Flex class that trains you on manual transmission trucks. The class covers all pertinent rules and regulations and is fully compliant with Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) requirements.
  • 160 Hour Program: Automatic Transmission
  • This course is a 4 week Flex class that trains you on automatic transmission trucks. The class covers all pertinent rules and regulations and is fully compliant with Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) requirements.
  • Each course offers optional housing and meal plan at an additional cost.
  • Housing units include refrigerators, microwaves, and Wi-Fi. Coin operated washers and dryers available.
  • Refresher Course:
  • Refresher training is designed to rebuild a driver's efficiency when the driver has been away from the industry for some time but is still considered employable.

Requirements:

  • Students must have a valid driver's license and a valid Class A CDLP (commercial driver's license permit).
  • Must be 18 years or older. Students under 21 years of age can complete the program but will be restricted to operating within their state of domicile.
  • Ability to communicate in English proficiently is recommended to assist in the successful completion of the program and to operate a commercial vehicle safely.
  • Applicants must hold or obtain a current DOT medical certificate. Students will be required to complete a DOT regulated drug screen. During class students will register with the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
  • Prospective students must complete a Crowder College Application for admission and be approved by the college admissions office.
  • By enrolling, students agree to abide by all published rules of behavior listed in the Crowder College Student Handbook. The Student Handbook is available at www.crowder.edu.
