Plant Accounting Manager
Description:
• Review of daily plant reports and KPIs related to manufacturing variances, shipping, work orders, and inventory-related transactions.
• Assist in reviewing, controlling, and managing inventories, including costing, aging, and counting inventories.
• Maintain and review KPIs and monthly results with plant management.
• Prepared timely and accurate plant-related reports and analyzed variances in budget/standards.
• Analysis based on knowledge of manufacturing processes to recommend improvements, cost savings, and improved efficiencies.
• Develop monthly forecasts based on the plant performance.
• Assist in developing the annual budget in conjunction with plant managers.
• Inventory management, including the cost of Ingredients, Packaging, and Finished Goods.
• Month-end roll-up and copy of inventory costs.
• Review and maintain bills of materials, yields, and scrap factors.
• Review and set standard conversion costs.
• Month-end review of plant financial statements, costs, and accruals.
• Responsibility for plant-specific GL accounts including reconciliations.
• GL review to ensure coding accuracy.
• Maintain recurring and reversing entries.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Five (5) Experience in accounting in a manufacturing organization. Proven analytical capabilities.
• Three (3) years of experience working in a manufacturing environment with plant managers and other business partners with an emphasis on cost analysis.
• Experience with an ERP system, including standard costing.
• Accounting designation preferable.
• Post-secondary education, preferably specializing in Finance or Accounting, with an understanding of financial and management accounting principles.
• Knowledge of and experience with JD Edwards software preferred.
