The Sr Ground Operations Intelligence Consultant invests in our Purpose by using data and analytics to provide insights and make recommendations on opportunities to improve our operational performance. This role builds management reports and designs data models to support their specific Ground Operations workgroup. The Sr Ground Operations Intelligence Consultant is a strategic thinker with an inquisitive mindset who looks forward to driving their own career with Heart at Southwest Airlines.

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work at a Company facility at least three days a week. Responsibilities

• Design and develop reporting assets that provide consistent, reliable, and automated delivery of data, internally and to our Partners


• Process unstructured data into a suitable form to perform in-depth analysis


• Identify key business risks and opportunities and make recommendations to improve overall operational performance and profitability


• Condense complex data and relationships into clear, concise charts and visualizations


• Design data models to extract data from operational databases and transform the data to easily understood business views to provide timely and strategic insights


• Independently design interactive analytic solutions and automate key reporting processes


• Contribute insight to strategic and tactical decisions that impact competitive position, product design, analytics, and operations


• Implement key recommendations by identifying cross-functional stakeholders, developing requirements, ensuring accurate implementation, monitoring impact, and optimizing results


• Act as subject matter expert, primary developer of unit analytics, and build and maintain appropriate dashboards


• Partner with business stakeholders to set clear business key performance indicators and build solutions that serve multiple areas of the business


• Work independently, with or without guidance, on end-to-end solutions, from data investigation to visual dashboards


• Support key research initiatives that might include managing and analyzing user panels, statistical data analysis, and/or creation of written reports summarizing outcomes


• May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Skilled in business intelligence reporting tools, data visualization toolsets as a developer, architecting data models and administration


• Skilled in SQL and Tableau, with the ability to perform complex quantitative analysis and translate results into meaningful business insights


• Demonstrated skills in verbal and written communication with a wide variety of audiences


• Knowledge of modern trends, tools and software to promote ongoing innovation


• Knowledge of relational databases with the ability to build and maintain them


• Ability to interface with a variety of Business, Analytics, and IT organizations


• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities at a time and to display integrity, thought leadership and reliability


• Ability to focus on specific tasks, as well as think through and attend to all of the critical details surrounding it

Education

• Required: High School Diploma or GED


• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer or Data Sciences, or in a similar field of study

Physical Abilities

• Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time

Other Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age


• Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines


• Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary and sensitive Company information


• Ability to work extended hours as needed

Pay & Benefits:

Competitive market salary from $124,550 per year to $138,400 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
