LabCorp, situated in Brentwood, TN, is seeking a candidate to join their Specimen Processing and Accessioning team in the role of Blood Bank Technologist. They would be accountable for conducting clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry in a quick-paced, high-volume environment that operates with established standard operating procedures.

Requirements:

  • In today's competitive job market, possessing a high school diploma or equivalent is a minimum requirement for many employers
  • No relevant experience is necessary, but applicants who have worked in a related industry for 1-2 years will have an advantage
  • Experience in the medical or production realm is seen as a positive attribute
  • Able to confidently manipulate biological specimens
  • Exact discernment of objects

Responsibilities:

  • Accept the specimen packages and correctly identify their contents.
  • With proper inbound tracking, businesses can identify trends and patterns in customer behaviors and preferences.
  • Organize the specimens in accordance with the policies and procedures of the department once you have unpacked them.
  • Manage the packaging of specimens to ensure that they are secured and transported safely.
  • Execute preliminary data entry and quality control procedures on specimens of every kind, in line with the departmental protocols.
  • Group files according to their type for efficient scanning and storage.
  • Let Team Chiefs/Supervisors/designees know about the missing samples.
  • Be part of missions devoted to locating vanished flora and fauna.
  • Achieving perfect alignment between inbound and outbound shipments requires a deep understanding of the supply chain and logistics processes
  • Facilitate the dispatch of relevant samples to the appropriate testing center, where required
  • Only ship outbound cases containing stained items after they have been reconciled, if necessary
  • Our team of experts is experienced in reviewing and refining client material to ensure that it meets or exceeds their expectations
  • Rid the area of any litter or garbage by properly disposing of it
  • Follow the prescribed departmental procedures to digitize all records efficiently.
  • If you notice any issues with your scanner, such as streaks or lines on your scans, it may be time to perform some maintenance and cleaning. Try cleaning the glass thoroughly, or consulting the manufacturer's support team for advice on diagnosing and resolving any potential issues.
  • Handle the paperwork and ship it to the deposit, as required
