The base compensation for new employees is $19.01 per hour

The working hours for weekdays are set from 11 pm to 5 am

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Shift cargo to and from trailers at the dock area to facilitate transportation.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Achieve productivity targets while maintaining high safety standards.
• Validate the freight documentation against the cargo to ensure that all information about the goods' weight, type, and hazardous materials precisely match via the utilization of modern digital or traditional paper documentation tools.
• Take measures to safeguard the shipment by securely fastening it within the trailer with the use of suitable materials and equipment.
• Regain and repair any spoiled cargo as necessary.
• Ensure that all needed documentation has been endorsed and finished.
• Assist customers with freight transport and relevant paperwork as required.
• Have the ability to execute hostling duties if the need arises.
• Conform to and honor all applicable laws and regulations, along with the policies and procedures of the organization.
• Conduct any other obligations as demanded.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• The desired qualification for this position is to have graduated from high school or acquired a comparable certification.
• Applicants are required to have attained the age of 18 years to be considered.
• Individuals with past involvement in warehousing, forklift operations, or freight handling are the preferred candidates.
• Experience in hostler/yard mule tasks is desirable for the position.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers, using either mental arithmetic or a calculating device.
• Effective communication abilities allow individuals to build trust and credibility in their personal and professional relationships.
• Having the skill to transport and carry hand-held items of different weights, lift dock plates weighing approximately 100 pounds, and unlatch trailer doors that demand about 75 pounds of lift force, on a frequent basis every day.
• Accomplished in carrying out physical maneuvers such as twisting, squatting, and bending to lift and move freight all day long.
• The proficiency to complete tasks independently or work in a team.
• Prior exposure to dock or warehouse operations is an added advantage.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• The dock is an environment that exposes workers to different weather elements, exhaust fumes, hazardous substances, dust, and loud noises.
• Fluctuations in operating requirements may affect working hours.
• Fast-paced operations that necessitate frequent contact with service center agents to meet deadlines.
