Job Summary

In accordance with state and federal regulations, assists in the training of team members under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy within the Micro Fulfillment Center. Assists leadership in the team members' performance of Micro Fulfillment Center duties in accordance with Company policies and procedures. Responsible for operating pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. Assists with and coaches pharmacy technicians and Fulfillment Specialists in the operation of pharmacy systems. Models and delivers a positive customer experience.

Responsibilities

• By making it a priority to streamline communication with pharmacies, the Micro Fulfillment Center ensures a fast turnaround time for obtaining patients' prescriptions. Moreover, it proactively resolves any store issues related to prescription requests to ensure that customers have a pleasant experience.
• The assistance plays a vital role in modeling and sharing the most effective procedures with team members to achieve a unique and pleasurable customer experience. This includes teaching interpersonal skills like welcoming customers warmly, maintaining eye contact, and being polite, as well as demonstrating service traits such as anticipating customers' needs, offering proactive assistance, and providing services until their satisfaction is met.
• Engages in building strong connections with valuable customers and team members.
• Supports the Group Supervisor Pharmacist in pharmacy services by practicing within the state, federal, and corporate framework.
• Carries out duties as directed by the Group Supervisor Pharmacist, including entering patient and medication information into pharmacy systems accurately, dispensing medication by measuring, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs according to prescribed orders, verifying medication accuracy, and examining for possible drug interactions. Assists the Group Supervisor Pharmacist in organizing and regulating the pharmacy workflow schedule.
• If there are any mistakes in prescriptions, quickly notify the pharmacist on duty and follow the Company's policies and procedures regarding pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
• In the course of prescription dispensing activities, Walgreen Co.'s Good Faith Dispensing policy is rigorously adhered to.
• Exhibits complete knowledge of the asset protection methods employed by the Company, enabling prompt submissions of claims related to warehouse overages, shortages, un-billed products, missing billed items, order discrepancies, and any damage suffered by pharmaceutical items during transportation.
• Aids in the development and implementation of strategies to improve pharmacy performance based on data analysis.
• By guaranteeing that the necessary supplies are always available, and by maintaining a clean and organized Micro Fulfillment Center both inside and out, the assistant plays a vital role in ensuring its overall condition and appearance.
• The effective execution of processes and tools is something that coaches are committed to instilling in pharmacy technicians and Fulfillment Specialists for continuous improvement of productivity within the Micro Fulfillment Center.
• Adheres to every organizational policy and guideline while promoting friendly interactions with coworkers.
• Achieves specific assignments and other allocated tasks as instructed.
• Keeps up with certification requirements by participating in the PTCB or ExCPT training program and acquiring state certification or registration.
• As approved by the manager, the worker attends obligatory training and successfully completes the required learning modules, obtaining additional credits for further education.
• Continues to educate themselves on the latest developments and news in healthcare and pharmacy, keeping their skills and knowledge current.

Qualifications

• The state board of pharmacy has granted an active and valid licensure to the pharmacist, which presently remains in good standing
• Validation of PTCB or ExCPT certification in areas other than Puerto Rico
• A seasoned pharmacy technician with a year's worth of experience in retail, hospital, or fulfillment settings and a strong work ethic
• The ability to communicate fluently in English, excluding Puerto Rico, is a non-negotiable requirement for this job
• The applicant should be willing to work on a flexible schedule that incorporates evening and weekend hours

• Work background established at the retail company Walgreens
• Regular training on basic math skills is essential for healthcare professionals to maintain their abilities and promote safe medication administration practices
• Having elementary-level PC aptitude implies the capacity to comprehend techniques for switching on and turning off the system. Skilled use of the mouse for accessing shortcuts or opening and closing applications can also be demonstrated. The fundamental knowledge of backing up files, generating printouts, and internet exploration can also be exhibited
• Understanding the importance of forecasting demand can improve inventory control by ensuring the right amount of products are on hand for customers
