Job Summary
The Security Officer will be responsible for supporting the Company's site-specific security programs. This person will work closely with the Security Manager in the execution of organization's policies, safety protocols, emergency rules, and training plans and procedures.
Role will ensure all Company security policies and procedures comply with local and state standards. Role will report directly to the Security Manager under the Security Department to ensure facility security operations, personnel allocation, process implementation remain safe and effective in executing our Company's mission.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following represents a non-exhaustive list of the duties and responsibilities of this position :
- Ability to provide and show leadership facility-wide as the primary point of contact on the Security team.
- Available to work weekends possibility for holidays.
- Develop and maintain relationships with interested third parties, including local police, local emergency responders, staff, and / or property management personnel.
- Ability to drive process and troubleshoot security systems and files.
- Demonstrate an ability to communicate on radio and coordinate others' activities in a timely manner.
- Lead and execute Security role without immediate, direct supervision always.
- Ability to draft, archive and submit routine reports and correspondence to appropriate levels of management.
- Develop, maintain, and administer incident reporting procedures and practices.
- Execute plans to address wide range of security related events and appropriate preventative strategies and internal controls.
- Operate and execute basic functions and troubleshooting of emergency call lists, alarm panel codes and other security systems.
- Protect staff and Company equipment from harm and theft.
- Support training and educate Safety Team to increase knowledge and create an environment focused on safety and security.
- Ability to operate responsible as contact for alarms, cameras, and Special Patrol while on duty.
- Support or provide overnight response, as needed.
- Assists with the maintenance and appearance of the facility in accordance with established standards.
- Support and organize office operations, systems, and procedures.
- Responsible for the protection of the Company's assets and equipment.
- Observe, identify, and report events which may include criminal and / or nuisance activity, unsafe or dangerous conditions, fire and life safety hazards and other site-related events to Security Manager for immediate resolution.
- Explain and enforce laws, city ordinances, local regulations and / or Company policies and procedures to all visitors and / or staff.
- Write and Review incident reports and logbooks.
- Support facilitation and check in of all vendors, guests, and personnel, as needed.
- Serve as a trusted Security representative when enforcing Company policies and procedures, including but not limited to the Company's Handbook, employee investigations, and reasonable suspicion
- Maintain strictest confidentiality.
- Perform other related work as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of security / law-enforcement experience.
- Proficient in incident response.
- Excellent with written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with safety / compliance-related metrics and driving insights from those metrics.
- Strong analytical skills, excellent customer service skills and ability to deal with high-pressure situations.
- 3 years in a leadership role.
- Must be 21 years of age to apply.
- Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working within the industry.
- Must be certified to possess and carry a firearm.
- High level of organization, patience, and flexibility, as well as professional appearance.
- Reliable and timely attendance.
- Advanced computer knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Ability to work independently and in a continually changing environment.
- Ability to multi-task effectively in a busy, high stress environment.
- Ability to present ideas effectively and communicate well with all levels of management.
- Ability to work in a team environment on a variety of programs and projects.
