New hires can expect to receive a wage of $19.01 for every hour worked at the commencement of their employment

The work hours commence at 11 pm and wind up at 5 am, Monday to Friday

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Relocate cargo to and from trailers for transportation on the dock.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilize computerized inventory systems to efficiently track and locate merchandise within the warehouse.
  • Confirm that the documentation provided aligns with the characteristics of the cargo, such as its weight, classification, and any dangerous materials, utilizing contemporary electronic data and traditional paper-based methods.
  • Take steps to ensure the safety of the shipment by correctly securing it within the trailer using appropriate supplies.
  • Mend and recover any damaged merchandise.
  • Validate and finalize all required documentation and reports.
  • Help customers with their cargo transportation and accompanying paperwork when necessary.
  • Be prepared to undertake the responsibilities of hostling as needed.
  • Adhere to all applicable rules and regulations, along with the policies and procedures of the company.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The preferred qualification for this position is to have finished high school or attained an equivalent credential.
  • One needs to be 18 or older to be eligible for this.
  • Applicants with prior experience in warehousing, forklift operations, or freight handling are highly desired.
  • A background in hostler/yard mule tasks is preferred for this position.
  • Aptitude to perform basic arithmetic operations, using mental math or a calculator.
  • To effectively communicate with others, it is essential to possess strong skills in expressing oneself through both written and verbal means.
  • The ability to handle, lift, and convey hand-held items with different weights several times in a week, raise dock plates weighing roughly 100 pounds, and unlock trailer doors that command approximately 75 pounds of lift force, multiple times throughout the day.
  • Capable of executing bodily movements like twisting, bending, and squatting to move cargo along throughout the shift.
  • The skill to operate individually or collaborate as a group member.
  • Prior knowledge in dock or warehouse processes is preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Environmental factors on the dock include fluctuating weather elements, toxic fumes, exhaust emissions, dust, and excessive noise levels.
  • Working hours are subject to change according to operational necessity.
  • A dynamic atmosphere where timely engagement with service center personnel is standard.
